Hamilton hit by fake notes fraud.
Hamilton Accies will increase security at their turnstiles after being hit by fraudsters at their recent 0-0 draw with Lanarkshire rivals Motherwell.The New Douglas Park club's bank spotted an "unusually high number" of forged notes in the takings from the match on 13 February.
The notes had been passed by supporters at both home and away gates.
Stricter policing of customers paying at the gate will be enforced and the club will monitor the situation.
A club statement explained: "Following our last home game v Motherwell, on 13 February, an unusually high number of forged banknotes, of various denominations, were found to have been presented at the turnstiles.
With immediate effect and at all turnstiles, home and away, additional checks and note scanners will be in operation

"These were subsequently charged back to the club by the bank. Accordingly, with immediate effect and at all turnstiles, home and away, additional checks and note scanners will be in operation. "
The statement went on: "Fans should therefore allow additional time at the turnstiles as a result of these checks. Anyone found attempting to defraud the club will be immediately dealt with by Police and Stewards on duty at the turnstiles.
"The club wish to apologise in advance to the vast majority of fans who may be delayed in gaining entry to the stadium as a result of the actions of a small minority."
