Reid explains Ross exit.

Hamilton boss Billy Reid insists incompatibility was the only reason behind Jack Ross leaving the club after playing only two games. The full-back joined in the summer on a one-year deal after being released by Clydesdale Bank Premier League rivals St Mirren. But the 34-year-old gave away two penalties on his debut - a 4-0 defeat at Aberdeen in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League - and was substituted in the 4-0 loss against Hearts at New Douglas Park last Saturday. Ross was then left out of the squad for the midweek Co-operative Insurance Cup defeat by Raith Rovers at Starks Park and the club confirmed on Friday he has been released by mutual consent, along with Stuart Elliot. Reid told Press Association Sport: "Jack came in to see me and said he was finding it difficult to fit in to the system and there is no point in keeping a player who doesn't fit the system. I'm sure he will hold his hands up and say that he didn't do well in his two games he played for us. "But there is no hard feelings and no fall-out and I'm sure Jack will say the same. His leaving does leave us short at the back, he is an experienced defender and we haven't got a lot of them fit at the moment. "He goes with our best wishes. It didn't work out with Stuart, either, he had injuries and it was better he left for a fresh start."
