Hamilton manager Billy Reid felt his side created their own problems in the 2-2 draw with Falkirk."I'm disappointed at taking a point," Reid told BBC Scotland.
"I couldn't believe we were 1-0 down. I thought we completely dominated. We got caught out and got punished for it. We didn't defend it properly.
"We went 2-1 up and I thought we were going to go and win. But nobody picked Ryan Flynn up at the back post and he put the ball in the net for 2-2."
Reid praised the effort of his players whilst bemoaning what he regarded as sloppy defending.
"All the problems we had, I thought we caused them ourselves," he said.
"The one thing I can't fault is the effort and endeavour I get off the players. It was absolutely fantastic.
The one positive thing for us today is that we go above Kilmarnock
Billy Reid
"To be fair to Falkirk, they tried to win the game as well. They were always a threat on the break.
"After it went to 2-2, both sides had chances and it was fairly even, but over the 90 minutes I thought we were the better football side. I don't think anybody will deny that."
The result maintains Hamilton's six-point lead over Scottish Premier League bottom club Falkirk and Reid had been hopeful of putting more daylight between the sides.
"It's another point," he added. "We're a wee bit disappointed.
"The one positive thing for us today is that we go above Kilmarnock.
"With the same amount of games played, we're one point above Kilmarnock and, after the start we've had to the season, that's pleasing."
