Jack Ross is to part company with Hamilton after playing just two games for Billy Reid`s side, it is understood.
The Lanarkshire club are in the process of concluding a financial agreement with the full-back, who only joined Accies in the summer on a one-year deal after being released by Clydesdale Bank Premier League rivals St Mirren.
The 34-year-old gave away two penalties on his debut - a 4-0 defeat at Aberdeen - and was substituted in the 4-0 loss against Hearts at New Douglas Park on Saturday.
The former Falkirk defender, who played under Reid at Clyde, was left out of the squad for the midweek Co-operative Insurance Cup defeat by Raith Rovers at Starks Park.
A Hamilton spokesman refused to comment but Ross`s departure is expected to be confirmed on Friday.
The Lanarkshire club, though, confirmed they had received international clearance for Nigel Hasselbaink, the 19-year-old nephew of former Chelsea and Holland striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who joined earlier in the week from PSV Eindhoven.
